off the grid graphic design SCRIVEN. . . JAMES SCRIVEN
I’m looking for a job that is as much of a lifestyle choice as it is a career choice.
A workplace that is a state of mind, not a place at all. A place where art and design bridge the gap between nature and the environment. Preferably in the mountains.
PLEASE BEAR WITH ME WHILE THE PORTFOLIO SECTION IS UPADATED. YOU CAN STILL DOWNLOAD THE PDF TO THE RIGHT.

HELLO AND
WELCOME
Here's the story: I'm an open minded, artistic bearded mountain yeti born in England, raised in California and here to make things look good.

A little bit of school at the University of Arizona (as well as Lacrosse), some bar tending, and coming to a crossroad in my life that would lead me to San Francisco and the Academy of Art University.

The city was not for me and I packed up and followed a calling to Lake Tahoe. Didn't quit school, just challenged myself to pursue the same degree online and living in a healthy and outdoor oriented environment.

I've been labeled as creative, a term I've tried to create my own meaning for. I see the world in two ways. First as my playground, and secondly as a a mixture of good and bad design. I consider myself as diligent, creative, and a daring individual who beleives in the power of great design.

I believe that graphic design has a job and that job is to communicate with concept, efficency, and that it must meet specific goals. I believe in this type of work and I instill it in every facet of my design.

I'll turn my head if you mention bikes, skis, boards, mountains, snow, pow, digging, environment, green living, cooking, and farming.
